Takehito Yokoo is a mechanical engineer who spearheaded the development of hybrid, battery electric, and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles at Toyota Motor Corporation, and led the OEM world’s first project of a hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty truck in Los Angeles. To support decarbonization efforts in the United States, he established the Japan Hydrogen Forum and currently serves as its advisor. After leaving Toyota, he dedicated himself to international engineering cultivation at The Global Engineers Initiative. He was also selected as a member of the advisory council for Stanford University’s Hydrogen Initiative. He continues to promote the development of a hydrogen-based society in the United States in collaboration with Japanese partner companies.
